Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced technical professional to support reserves evaluation, economic forecasting, decline curve analysis, and reserves database management. The successful candidate will work directly with company leadership on mineral and royalty asset analysis, with substantial autonomy and ownership of technical workflows.
Essential Responsibilities
· Maintain and develop the company's PHDWin reserves database
· Perform decline curve analysis and generate type curves at the well and DSU level
· Execute economic runs and sensitivity analyses supporting acquisition, divestiture, and ongoing portfolio management
· Coordinate technical data flows between subsurface, land, and accounting functions
· Produce reserves reports and supporting documentation consistent with SEC and PRMS guidelines
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, engineering technology, geology, mathematics, physics, or a closely related technical discipline
· Minimum 10 years of technical experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
· Extensive, demonstrated proficiency with PHDWin build 3.xx, including database administration, economic configuration, and reporting (please describe specific experience in your letter of interest)
· Working knowledge of SEC and PRMS reserves classification frameworks
· Strong command of decline curve analysis methodologies and well-level economics
· Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
· GIS and data visualization experience, including ArcGIS, Spotfire, Power BI, or comparable platforms
· Experience integrating spatial datasets (leasehold, well locations, unit outlines) with reserves and production data
· Familiarity with Enverus/DrillingInfo, IHS, and state regulatory data sources
· Prior experience in a mineral, royalty, or non-operated working interest context
· Texas P.E. license (a plus, not required)
Compensation and Engagement Terms
Initial engagement structured as a flexible-hours 1099 contract with conversion to full-time W-2 employment with full benefits possible based on mutual fit. Compensation commensurate with experience and competitive within the Austin and broader Texas markets.
