The Department of Energy & Petroleum Engineering (EPE) at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in Applied Artificial Intelligence and Scientific Machine Learning for Subsurface Energy Systems as part of the University’s AI Cluster Hire Initiative.
We seek a scholar who will develop an internationally recognized, externally funded research program at the intersection of:
Data analytics for upstream oil and gas systems
Scientific machine learning and physics-informed AI
High-performance computing for energy applications
AI-enabled decision-making under uncertainty
Digital twins of subsurface assets
The successful candidate will play a central role in strengthening UW’s leadership in digital transformation of subsurface energy systems.
