Installs and monitors the electronic function of all equipment. Ensures all electronic related issues are managed effectively and completely.  MIDLAND, TX

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures proper start-up of all software and communications with all equipment. 
  • Visually inspects all cables. 
  • Communicates with frac supervisor prior to start-up. 
  • Expected to be attending to all equipment by walking around visually inspecting operation. 
  • The E-Tech responsibility is with the equipment.
  • Communicates any deficiencies to frac supervisor. 
  • Performs repairs to equipment.
  • Operates light duty trucks.
  • Drives company vehicles over various types of road conditions and terrain, including highways, rural roads with paved and gravel surface, and off-road situations including two track roads.
  • General housekeeping and routine maintenance of Company property.
  • Learns and follows Company HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies at all times.
  • Knows and uses appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.
  • Willing and able to make schedule appointments when required and work alternate shifts as requested by supervisor.
  • Willing and able to be on call nights and/or holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Exposure to weather – Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather.
  • Atmospheric Conditions – Exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dusts, mists, and gases. 
  • Required to travel to job sites for a week or more at a time in a designated area.
  • Must be able to work long periods of time, including nights and weekends.
  • Must have efficient eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to perform physical labor involved frequent lifting (over 50 lbs.), carrying, bending, and shoveling. 

Full Job Description

  • Maintain and Install Instrumentation device, Calibrate/Scale/Verify input/output devices for accuracy.
  • Support field operations with Preventive Maintenance and Inspection of Instrumentation and Low Voltage Electrical components.
  • Track workload and document troubleshooting, and corrective actions taken to resolve issues.
  • Install Pressure transducers, Electric equipment, and Cables, with no supervision.
  • Professional Level Communications understanding/troubleshooting –TCP/IP and RS232 Network and serial Connectivity and device communication with limited supervision.
  • Instrumentation – RS233 serial Communicators, Configuration, and device Calibration/Scaling. 4-20mA Input/Output, Phone-out and/or ohm out of wiring and device repair/replacement with little to no supervision.
  • Electrical – 110VAC and lower, 12-24 VDC, low amp/voltage wiring to +/- and Ground applications to common bus bars and terminal/fuse blocks, with limited supervision. Change out low amperage fuses and reset spring loaded breaker and terminal blocks.
  • Identify optimization opportunities, share optimization techniques with peers to improve team troubleshooting/break-fix capabilities.

  • Technical Associate’s degree
  • Knowledge of electronic technician and automation equipment
  • Field experience maintaining and repairing electronic instrumentation and automation equipment on well servicing equipment or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or higher in relevant field may be considered in lieu of experience
